Tesla Australia has announced a special offer aimed at clearing inventory: a $3,000 trade-in bonus when purchasing a stocked Model 3, available only until 30 September 2025.

How to avail the offer?

The bonus amount is added on top of the assessed trade-in value of your existing vehicle (i.e. after the standard appraisal) and cannot be taken as cash. The offer applies only to new or in-stock Model 3 vehicles — not used or third-party inventory. It will only be available till stocks last with Tesla Australia.

Tesla price cuts & heavy discounts

The trade-in bonus is part of a broader effort by Tesla to boost sales during a sluggish start to 2025. As of April 2025, only 2,266 units of the Model 3 had been sold, compared to 6,865 in the same period in 2024. While demand for the new Tesla Model Y has seen a strong rebound, overall sales for the American carmaker are still down compared to the previous year.

Tesla has already introduced other discounts:

  • Stocked Model 3 vehicles already carry discounts ranging from $3,640 (Performance variant) to $5,550 (Long Range).
  • Tesla has also dropped prices on select Model Y models by up to $11,000 to offload older stock.

Tesla Model 3 pricing in Australia

The 2025 Tesla Model 3 line-up in Australia is priced as follows (before on-road costs):

  • Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): $54,900
  • Long Range AWD: $64,900
  • Performance AWD: $80,900

Extra perk: Full Self-Driving option

Tesla is also promoting its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) package for new buyers in Australia.

  • Priced at $10,100 outright, or about $149/month (subscription to roll out), the package adds advanced driver-assist capabilities.
  • While branded “Self-Driving”, the system still requires driver supervision. Rules and permitted usage vary by state.

What it means for buyers

For those already considering a Tesla Model 3, this bonus offers a notable price reduction — especially when combined with existing discounts. But the clock is ticking: orders and deliveries must be finalized by 30 September 2025 to qualify. Buyers should be aware that Tesla does not guarantee the availability of inventory or that delivery timelines can always be met.
