Tesla Australia has issued a recall for 7,301 units of the Model Y, built in 2025. It is looking at all the variants due to a malfunction in the driver’s seat window protection software.

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?

A software defect may cause the driver’s side window’s automatic protection system to malfunction, allowing it to close with excessive force. If a body part is obstructing, this increases the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

Which vehicles are affected?

Model Years: 2025

Total Units Affected: 7,301

Recall Number: REC-006419

Tesla has released a complete list of affected Vehicle Identification Number (VINs). If you own a Model Y, it’s recommended you verify whether your vehicle is part of this recall by reviewing the VIN list provided.
