Toyota Australia has announced a Customer Service Exercise (CSE) for a selection of Toyota Tundra vehicles to improve the operation of the model’s Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system.

Approximately 1,210 Toyota Tundra vehicles are affected in the Australian market, covering certain Toyota Tundra Limited and Toyota Tundra Platinum variants produced between August 2023 and June 2025.

What is the issue?

The affected Toyota Tundra vehicles are equipped with a parking assist electronic control unit (ECU) that operates as part of the Panoramic View Monitor system, which displays images from multiple cameras around the vehicle, including the rear-view camera.

Toyota Australia says the parking assist ECU may become stuck on a camera view or display a black image after a camera view change request. If this occurs and the vehicle is subsequently shifted into reverse, the rear-view image may not display as intended.

What is Toyota doing to fix it?

To address the issue, Toyota dealers will reprogram the parking assist ECU software on all affected Toyota Tundra vehicles.

The update will be carried out free of charge and is expected to take around two hours, though vehicles may need to remain at the dealership longer depending on workshop schedules.

Is it a recall?

Toyota Australia has confirmed this action is a Customer Service Exercise, not a safety recall. The company says affected vehicles can continue to be driven while owners wait for the software update.
