Toyota Australia has announced a safety recall affecting certain Toyota LandCruiser 300 vehicles sold locally, citing a potential issue with the transmission ECT-ECU software.
Around 11,020 vehicles are involved across the Australian market. Toyota dealers will carry out the required update free of charge.
What’s the issue?

Affected LandCruiser 300 models use a 10-speed automatic transmission with linear solenoids controlling gear shifts.
If a solenoid fails under specific conditions, the transmission control unit may not relay the fault to the engine ECU. This can lead to transmission over-revving in some gears, which may cause drivetrain damage or a loss of motive power at higher speeds.
In rare cases, fluid leaks could occur and, if they contact hot exhaust components, increase the risk of fire.
Vehicles affected
The recall applies to Toyota LandCruiser 300 (FJA300R) vehicles built between February 2025 and December 2025.
