Walkinshaw-developed chassis package headlines upgrades

Volkswagen Amarok V6 W600

Unlike many special-edition utes that focus primarily on styling, Volkswagen says the Amarok V6 W600 was engineered with a clear goal: to become the ultimate driver’s ute.

The centrepiece of the package is a comprehensive chassis overhaul developed by Walkinshaw Automotive Group specifically for Australian conditions.

Key upgrades include:

  • Bespoke KONI suspension with Frequency Selective Damping technology
  • Walkinshaw-specific suspension valve calibration
  • Newly developed 22mm rear anti-roll bar
  • 20-inch flow-formed alloy wheels
  • Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres
  • Revised steering response and handling characteristics

According to Volkswagen, these modifications improve body control, cornering stability and steering precision while maintaining everyday comfort and usability.

Nathan Johnson, Brand Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Australia, said the W600 offers much more than cosmetic enhancements.

“The Amarok V6 W600 is about much more than appearance. It’s a vehicle that has been engineered from the ground up to elevate the driving experience while retaining all the capability, practicality and refinement that customers expect from Amarok.”

He added; “When you consider the breadth of the package, from the bespoke Walkinshaw-developed suspension and chassis calibration to the premium interior and distinctive exterior enhancements, the W600 offers customers a uniquely engineered performance ute unlike anything else in the segment.”
