With the 30-Day Return Guarantee, you get 30 calendar days and 1,000 kilometres from delivery to decide if it’s truly right for you.

If it doesn’t feel right, we’re happy to take it back, subject to a few simple, transparent conditions.

 

How does the 30-Day return guarantee work?

We want you to love your car. If you decide it’s not the right fit within the first 30 days, we will refund every cent of the purchase price and government charges.

  • Days 1-7: 100% Money Back. Zero cost to you.
  • Days 8-30: 100% Money Back, minus only the nominal Service Fee ($499–$999). This fee is transparently listed on every car's detail page and is retained as a restocking fee to cover administration, inspection, and reconditioning.

 

What is included

No hidden fees or complicated math. We refund 100% of the purchase costs listed below.

  • Vehicle purchase price
  • Stamp duty / motor vehicle duty / transfer charges
  • Registration charges
  • CTP
  • Extended warranty or aftercare products (if applicable)
  • External finance handling fees
  • Service fee (only if the return is requested within 7 calendar days)

 

Service Fee Waiver: We may fully refund the Service Fee up to Day 30 if:

  • There is a major mechanical or electrical issue (not covered by the 3-month warranty), or;
  • You choose to swap your vehicle for another car with Cars24.

 

What is not included

To keep this offer sustainable for everyone, there are a few external or consumable costs that we cannot recoup or refund.

  • Fuel consumed
  • Post-delivery modifications or services
  • Government payments made directly by you
  • Delivery fee or pickup charges already incurred
  • Third-party finance or lender charges paid directly by you (not paid to Cars24)

 

Eligibility

To qualify under the 30-Day Return Guarantee, the car should be:

  • Purchased directly from Cars24 (cars listed as ‘dealer listings’ are not eligible).
  • Returned within 30 calendar days of delivery.
  • Driven no more than 1,000 kilometres from delivery.
  • Returned in the same condition as delivered, free of any new structural, mechanical, or cosmetic modifications.
  • Returned with all documents and keys intact.
  • With all original keys, documents and accessories returned.
  • Used for private purposes only (not for commercial use, rental, or ride-sharing etc.).

 

Additional notes

  • If you have purchased the car on EGC, we will deduct the nominal Service Fee as a restocking fee to cover administration, inspection, and reconditioning.
  • Trade-in: While we can’t promise to return your original trade-in vehicle (as it may have already been refurbished or sold), we will return the exact cash value allowed for your trade-in as part of your 100% refund.

 

All returns are subject to inspection and approval. Inspection and collection must be scheduled within 4 calendar days from requesting refund.

 

Note: Cars24 reserves the right to reject a return claim if more than 2 returns are requested in a financial year.

 

Return process by payment mode

  • Full upfront Payment: Eligible amounts are refunded to the original payment method.
  • Cars24-arranged finance: Refunds are reconciled and refunded in accordance with finance terms and repayment status.
  • Novated lease or self-arranged finance: Amounts paid directly to Cars24 are refunded. External lender fees may not be refundable.

 

How to return your Car

  1. Contact our Customer Support team on hello.au@cars24.com within 30 calendar days of delivery. We will do necessary checks (e.g., PPSR), arrange an inspection & pick up of the vehicle.
  2. Return the vehicle to a designated Cars24 location or arrange pickup (charges may apply depending on location).
  3. Once approved, your refund will be processed within 7-10 working days.
  4. If you’ve found another car you love on our site, we’ll simply apply your refund as a credit toward your next purchase. Any remaining balance will be returned to you.

 

Frequently asked questions

Is the 7-Day money back guarantee still valid?

Yes. The first 7 days remain a full 100% refund window with no deductions.

What if I drive more than 1,000 kilometres?

The vehicle becomes ineligible under this policy.

How long does the refund process take?

Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days from approval or return of the vehicle.

Does this replace my rights under Australian Consumer Law?

No. The 30-Day Return Guarantee operates in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Who is eligible for 30-Day Return Guarantee?

This guarantee applies to all vehicles delivered on or after 19 February 2026.
