Chinese carmaker Leapmotor has unveiled the upgraded 2026 C10 Design Long-Range (LR) EV in Australia, bringing significant improvements in range, performance and charging capability while maintaining its sharp starting price of $49,888 before on-road costs.

The new C10 Design LR EV introduces a larger 81.9kWh battery and an advanced 800V high-voltage architecture compared to its previous-generation C10, which launched locally in late 2024. The C10 competes in Australia’s growing medium electric SUV segment against rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, Kia EV5 Air, and Xpeng G6.

Exterior and interior updates of the 2026 Leapmotor C10 Design LR

Beyond the powertrain upgrades, Leapmotor has introduced several convenience, safety and handling improvements for the 2026 model year. Exterior and chassis updates include:

  • Yokohama ADVAN Sport EV tyres for improved grip and handling precision
  • Tyre inflation kit now includes a sealant canister for added roadside confidence

Interior and convenience updates:

  • Two NFC key cards now standard

* The interior shots above belong to the previous-gen C10 EV

The facelift model offers these paint choices: Terra Grey, Metallic Black, Jade Green, Midnight Grey, and Light White (new), as well as Camel Brown and Black interior colour options. Moreover, it also gets the new OTA updates announced in November 2025.

Bottom line

The 2026 Leapmotor C10 Design LR delivers meaningful upgrades without a price increase, combining a larger 81.9kWh battery, up to 510km of WLTP range, 180kW fast charging and stronger performance from its 220kW electric motor.

With a larger battery, faster charging capability and stronger performance, the updated C10 strengthens its value proposition in Australia’s increasingly competitive electric SUV market while retaining its $49,888 before on-road costs starting price.
