Chinese carmaker Chery’s subbrand, Lepas, has officially confirmed that its first all-electric model, the Lepas L6 EV, will arrive in Australia during the fourth quarter of 2026 as part of the brand’s local expansion strategy.
Positioned in the highly competitive mid-size electric SUV segment, the L6 has been developed to blend contemporary styling, advanced technology and everyday practicality. Lepas says the new EV reflects the Chery Group’s growing commitment to electrified mobility for Australian buyers.

Power in the SUV comes from an electric drivetrain producing up to 160kW of power and 275Nm of torque.
Lepas says the setup delivers competitive performance for the segment while maintaining efficient energy management.
The company is targeting an estimated driving range of 450km with a 65kWh battery capacity, making the L6 suitable for both daily commuting and longer journeys.
