The Mitsubishi Pajero has returned for a new generation, bringing back the nameplate as a dedicated four-wheel-drive SUV. The new model moves away from the softer, road-focused approach of Mitsubishi’s current SUV range and adopts a more rugged design, ladder-frame construction and four-wheel-drive hardware aimed at serious off-road use.

The Pajero is expected to arrive in Australia in 2026, giving Mitsubishi a new rival in the large off-road SUV segment.

The new Pajero looks tougher than ever

The new Pajero has a boxier, more upright shape than Mitsubishi’s current SUV range, giving it a stronger four-wheel-drive stance.

A broad grille, slim LED headlights and chunky front bumper dominate the front end, while squared-off wheel arches, black body cladding and large alloy wheels add to its rugged appearance.

The rear features distinctive LED tail lights, a tall tailgate and a substantial bumper. The overall design pays tribute to the proportions of previous Pajero generations while giving the nameplate a modern identity.
