Key highlights:
- New plug-in hybrid delivers 270kW and up to 87km electric range
- Diesel V6 rises $11,416 to $137,900 before on-road costs.
- Standard equipment includes air suspension, rear-wheel steering and three displays
The new-generation 2027 Audi A6 Allroad brings plug-in hybrid power, more technology and extra standard equipment to Australia. But buyers who stick with the diesel V6 will face a price rise of more than $11,000.
The high-riding luxury crossover wagon will lead Audi’s next-generation A6 range into local showrooms, ahead of an anticipated high-performance RS6 derivative.
Audi has also dropped the entry price to $127,900 plus on-road costs by introducing a new turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid. The diesel now costs $137,900 before on-road costs, although Audi says the new model brings more than $10,000 worth of additional standard equipment.
There is still no word on whether the standard A6 sedan will reach Australian showrooms. Plans for the related all-electric A6 e-tron range have also been shelved.

Two powertrains, including a new plug-in hybrid
Audi offers the new A6 Allroad with a turbo-diesel V6 or, for the first time, a turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid.
| Specifications | A6 Allroad TDI quattro | A6 Allroad e-hybrid quattro |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 | 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder |
| Battery | Mild-hybrid system | 20.7kWh usable capacity |
| Engine output | 220kW | 185kW |
| Electric motor | Mild-hybrid ‘plus’ system | 105kW |
| System output | 220kW / 580Nm | 270kW / 500Nm |
| Transmission | 7-speed dual-clutch automatic | 7-speed dual-clutch automatic |
| Drivetrain | Quattro all-wheel drive | Quattro all-wheel drive |
| EV range | Short-distance electric driving at low speeds | Up to 87km |
The 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 produces 220kW and 580Nm, which represents a 37kW power increase but a 20Nm torque reduction compared with its predecessor. Its mild-hybrid ‘plus’ technology can drive the wheels using electric power over short distances at low speeds.
Audi has also replaced the previous eight-speed torque-converter automatic with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive remains standard.

The new e-hybrid combines a 185kW 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor, and together, they deliver 270kW and 500Nm, with power sent to all four wheels through the seven-speed automatic.
A 20.7kWh usable-capacity battery provides a claimed electric-only driving range of up to 87km. Owners can recharge it using an AC power connection, but DC charging is not supported.
Bigger body, adjustable ride height
The new A6 Allroad is larger and adopts wider bodywork than the regular A6 for the first time, measuring 111mm wider than the standard model in Europe. Adaptive air suspension gives the wagon a 55mm ride-height adjustment range:
- Dynamic mode: Lowers the body by 20mm from its standard height
- Offroad and Offroad+ modes: Raise the body by 15mm
- Lift mode: Adds another 20mm of clearance at low speeds
Rear-wheel steering is standard across the range. The diesel rides on 20-inch black alloy wheels, while the plug-in hybrid gets 21-inch alloys and red brake callipers.
The diesel has unpainted brake callipers, and both variants also receive progressive sports steering.
