The 2027 GMC Yukon has gained a second variant in Australia, with the new Denali Signature Black joining the existing Denali. Both versions are now available to order and are rolling into local showrooms.
As with the existing Yukon, the vehicles arrive in Australia as left-hand-drive models before Walkinshaw Group re-manufactures them to right-hand drive in Melbourne.
The new Signature Black adds darker exterior styling and swaps the standard Yukon’s second-row bench for two captain’s chairs, without changing anything under the hood.
Blacked-out exterior
The Denali Signature Black is the same size as the Denali variant but adds a darker look across the exterior and other upgrades, which include:
- Blacked-out grille
- Black exterior details
- Illuminated GMC front logo
- Pop-out side steps
It is physically larger than traditional local options such as the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series and Nissan Patrol. The seven-seat cabin gets a power-sliding second-row centre console, and seat heating and ventilation remain limited to the front row.
Same 6.2-litre V8 power
There are no changes to the Yukon’s powertrain in the new blacked-out variant. The Yukon’s 24-inch wheels show that it is not primarily designed as an off-road vehicle.

Its 3628kg braked towing capacity, converted from the 8000-pound US rating, exceeds the 3500kg capacity offered by most competitors.
The Yukon still falls short of the 4200kg to 4500kg braked towing capacity available from the Chevrolet Silverado pickup with the same petrol V8 engine.

Flagship Signature Black costs $181,490
The Australian 2027 Yukon range now consists of exactly two variants, and the GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black is $6500 more expensive than the regular Yukon Denali.

The Signature Black trades the three-seat second-row bench for two captain’s chairs, which reduces seating capacity from eight to seven but creates a passage to the third row.
Australia’s GMC flagship
Yukon is currently the only GMC-badged passenger vehicle sold in Australia, and General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) positions it as the brand’s absolute flagship luxury family haulier.
The company positions the Yukon as a premium alternative to luxury off-roaders such as the Lexus LX.
Australia does not receive the full five-grade US Yukon range, including the Elevation, AT4 and Denali Ultimate, and the SUV is imported from Texas and locally re-manufactured by Walkinshaw Automotive Group exclusively in high-end specifications.
The Yukon has recorded 237 Australian sales during the first eight months of 2026 compared with 342 sales across the whole of 2025.
