Key highlights:
- Cannon Hi4-T starts at $50,990 drive-away
- Launch offers can cut the price to $47,990
- It combines 310kW, 750Nm and 3500kg towing capacity
GWM Australia has priced its new Cannon Hi4-T plug-in hybrid (PHEV) ute from $50,990 drive-away, undercutting every other PHEV ute currently sold in Australia; on top of that, launch discounts can push the price even lower, to $47,990 drive-away.
The Hi4-T brings PHEV technology further down GWM’s off-road ute range after the larger Cannon Alpha Hi4-T arrived in May 2025 and they also join the Tank 300 and Tank 500 PHEVs in Australian showrooms.
Two variants, two launch prices
The mid-size Cannon Hi4-T ute comes in Lux and Ultra variants and these are discounted for both private and ABN buyers until 31 October 2026. Buyers can choose either a $2000 fuel card or a $2000 drive-away bonus.
| Variant | Private drive-away | ABN drive-away |
|---|---|---|
| GWM Cannon Hi4-T Lux | $50,990 | $49,990 |
| GWM Cannon Hi4-T Ultra | $54,990 | $53,990 |
That takes the cheapest Cannon Hi4-T down to $47,990 drive-away and even without the launch offer, its regular starting price undercuts every PHEV ute currently on the Australian market.
The closest rival is the JAC Hunter PHEV, priced at $49,988 before on-road costs and for a NSW postcode, its estimated drive-away price is $53,905.
GWM becomes the only brand in Australia currently offering two PHEV utes and this launch follows new turbo-diesel powertrains for the Cannon Alpha and Tank 500.
Hi4-T packs 310kW and 750Nm
Like GWM’s other Hi4-T models, the Cannon uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, one electric motor and a 33.1kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
GWM quotes 310kW and 750Nm, sent through a mechanical four-wheel-drive system via the nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission.

Off-road hardware includes a low-range transfer case, five all-terrain drive modes, and mechanical four-wheel drive.
