Geely Auto Australia is preparing a major 2027 product push, with plug-in hybrids making up much of the incoming range and the 830kW Battleship 700 set to headline the rollout.
Geely confirmed the flagship off-road SUV for an Australian launch in the second half of 2027, at this week’s Everything Electric Show in Sydney, and the brand has also opened pre-orders for the Monjaro EM-i SUV and Emgrand L EM-i sedan, both due here in the first half of 2027.
Customers who place a $200 pre-order deposit on either model before 30 September will receive a complimentary home charger and premium paint upgrade worth $600. Monjaro buyers also receive a suede-like upholstery upgrade when they choose the AWD variant.
Geely Monjaro EM-i SUV
The five-seat Monjaro EM-i will sit above the Starray EM-i in Geely’s Australian range, and the name has nothing to do with weight loss. Geely named this SUV after Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
Following a recent mid-life update, the Monjaro has moved from Geely’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) to the Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture Evo (GEA Evo) platform. The previous CMA platform also underpins vehicles including the Volvo EX40/EX40 and Polestar 2.
Geely uses GEA Evo for several more premium models, including the larger M9 SUV sold in China and the new Smart #6 sedan revealed at this year’s Beijing motor show.
Geely describes the platform as performance-focused, and it offers available Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension, while Geely’s Technology Europe division has tuned the chassis.
PHEV power and range
Australia will receive a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder PHEV system with dual electric motors and a battery offering up to 40kWh of capacity. Geely hasn’t revealed how many battery variants Australia will receive.

The 40kWh battery can deliver up to 170km of WLTP electric range, while combined driving range reaches 1137km WLTP.
Cabin and power outlets
The Monjaro gets a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 25.6-inch head-up display, and other available equipment includes:
- Surround-view parking camera
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) with up to 6.6kW of output
Geely has also confirmed these Australian exterior colours: Sunlight Gold, Sky Blue, Night Black, Lunar Grey, and Cloud White. Interior choices will include an optional brown suede-like colourway.

Geely Emgrand L EM-i sedan
The Emgrand L EM-i sedan will also arrive in Australia during the first half of 2027, effectively acting as a sedan counterpart to the popular Starray EM-i SUV, and Geely positions it against the Toyota Camry and BYD Seal 6.
1000km-plus combined range
Power comes from a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid system paired with an 18.4kWh battery, and Geely says the system will produce at least 180kW and 250Nm. For comparison, the Starray EM-i FWD quotes 193kW of system power.

Pre-orders for the Emgrand L open this weekend, but Geely hasn’t yet announced Australian variants or detailed specifications.
Five exterior colours have been confirmed: Alpine White, Cloudveil Silver, Polar Black, Volcanic Grey, and Glacier Blue. Australian buyers will get two interior choices, including a black-and-brown option.
Geely Battleship 700 large SUV
This is the biggest and most powerful model of the three. The 2027 or 2028 Geely Battleship 700 is the production version of the Galaxy Cruiser Prototype revealed in 2025.
Geely has confirmed an Australian launch for the second half of 2027, but final local specifications remain under development.
The PHEV four-wheel-drive SUV has already gone on sale in overseas markets including China.
830kW from three electric motors
The Battleship 700 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol-electric system, a 47kWh battery and a tri-motor AWD system, and Geely says the production model delivers a huge 830kW. The battery provides up to 170km of electric range.
Built for serious off-road work
The Battleship 700 comes with 233mm of standard ground clearance and a quoted 800mm wading depth. Global models can also get air suspension, which may be offered in Australia, though Geely hasn’t confirmed it for the local market.
Inside, the SUV gets:
- 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- 15.6-inch touchscreen
- Heated and cooled centre-console compartment
- 23-speaker premium sound system
It also features a ‘Waltz U-Turn’ function that Geely says “provides on-the-spot maneuverability”, similar to crab-walk and tank-turn functions offered by other vehicles.
Geely will confirm the full Australian specification closer to the launch in the latter half of 2027.
All three incoming models will be displayed alongside the existing Geely EX2, EX5 and Starray EM-i at the Everything Electric Show in Sydney this weekend.
The Monjaro EM-i and Emgrand L EM-i will arrive in the first half of 2027, while the much more powerful Battleship 700 follows in the second half.
