The 2027 Land Rover Defender range has received a comprehensive update, headlined by the introduction of the new Defender Vertex variant, expanded personalisation options and a new six-seat layout for the Defender 110.

The updates are designed to give buyers more choice across the Defender range while retaining the off-road capability and rugged character that have made the luxury SUV a global success.

Available in both Defender 90 and Defender 110 body styles, the new Vertex grade sits alongside the existing X specification and brings a more distinctive appearance through revised bumpers, unique wheels and premium cabin appointments.

The Defender Vertex adds a tougher and more premium look to the iconic SUV, featuring extended front and rear bumpers finished in Shadow Atlas Matte, a larger front grille and revised fog lamps.

Further visual upgrades include a gloss black tailgate spoiler, yellow brake calipers, yellow rear recovery eyes and body-coloured lower body cladding designed to enhance its road presence.

The Vertex rides on new 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, while buyers can choose from a range of exterior colours including Fuji White, Santorini Black, Woolstone Green, Borasco Grey and Carpathian Grey. The distinctive Patagonia White Matte Wrap remains available as an option.

Inside, buyers can select from Windsor Leather, Ultrafabrics or the new Ebony Forged Textile upholstery, with three-zone climate control, Cabin Air Purification Plus and a domestic power outlet fitted as standard.

New six-seat Defender 110 targets families

2027 Land Rover Defender

One of the biggest updates for the 2027 Defender range is the introduction of a six-seat configuration for the Defender 110.

The new 2+2+2 layout replaces the traditional middle-row bench with individual captain’s chairs, improving comfort, rear passenger access and overall practicality.

According to Land Rover, the setup provides additional legroom, dedicated armrests and extra storage space between the second-row seats, making it particularly appealing for families and long-distance touring.

Defender Trophy Edition gets a fresh look

The Defender 110 Trophy Edition is now available in a new Santorini Black finish, replacing the previous Keswick Green colour option.

Inspired by the brand’s heritage of adventure challenges, the Trophy Edition continues to include expedition-focused equipment such as an expedition roof rack, deployable roof ladder and raised air intake.

Special Trophy Edition branding, unique exterior graphics and exclusive interior trim options help distinguish the model from the rest of the Defender range.

Defender OCTA adds new colour option

The high-performance Defender OCTA also receives updates for 2027, including the addition of Woolstone Green paint.

Powered by a twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid V8 engine and equipped with advanced 6D Dynamics suspension, the OCTA remains the most powerful and capable Defender ever produced.

The performance flagship continues to be offered alongside the OCTA Black variant, with both models receiving a gloss black tailgate spoiler as standard.

New colours, accessories and technology

Land Rover has expanded Defender’s personalisation options with the introduction of Namib Orange, inspired by the famous dunes of the Namib Desert.

The brand has also launched a new self-healing Gloss Protective Film designed to protect the paintwork from stone chips, scratches and everyday wear.

New factory-fit accessories include:

  • Roof-mounted expedition lighting
  • Tail Door Gear Carrier with up to 60 litres of lockable storage
  • Tailgate spoiler options
  • Updated Explorer, Adventure and Urban accessory packs

Inside, Defender’s latest connected technology includes an upgraded AI-powered voice assistant activated through the “Hey Land Rover” command, allowing more natural voice interactions and access to generative AI-powered responses.
