General Motors Australia has issued a recall for 134 units of the Corvette Z06, built between 2022-2025. It is looking at the Z06 variant due to a design flaw with the fuel filler pocket.

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?

According to the recall report, the defective design may cause the fuel spilled into the fuel filler pocket whilst refuelling to come in contact with an ignition source resulting in a fire. This poses a serious threat to both the vehicle as well as its occupants.

Which vehicles are affected?

Make: General Motors

Model: Corvette Z06

Model Years: 2022-2025

Total Units Affected: 134

Recall Number: REC-006415

Campaign Number: N25-2514930

General Motors Australia has released a complete list of affected Vehicle Identification Number (VINs). If you own a Corvette Z06, it’s recommended you verify whether your vehicle is part of this recall by reviewing the VIN list provided.

What should owners do now?

If your vehicle falls under the list of affected vehicles, General Motors New Zealand and Australia will contact you as soon as relevant parts arrive, and urge you to schedule a service appointment to have the work carried out, free of charge.

This isn’t just a precaution, but an important safety repair that should be fixed as soon as possible. Until affected owners get the call, we’d urge them to be vigilant while fueling their Corvettes to minimise the risk of harm from the design flaw.
