The GWM H6GT PHEV has been updated with a new all-wheel-drive hybrid system, a redesigned interior, and a larger infotainment setup. Prices start at $52,990 driveaway in Australia.
The exterior design stays mostly the same, but the changes focus on performance, efficiency, and in-cabin tech.
New AWD hybrid system
The biggest update is GWM’s Hi4 all-wheel-drive hybrid system. It uses two electric motors to power both axles and adjusts power based on driving conditions.
In simple terms, it:
- Sends power where it’s needed for better grip
- Uses more electric power in city driving
- Switches smoothly between petrol and electric modes
Performance and range

The GWM H6GT PHEV combines strong performance with low fuel use:
| Category | Specification |
| Power | 321kW |
| Torque | 642Nm |
| 0–100 km/h | 4.6 seconds |
| EV Range (NEDC) | Up to 183km |
| Fuel Consumption | 0.6L/100km (claimed) |
| Total Range | Up to 1,183km |
| Battery Capacity | 35.43kWh |
The battery is 35.43kWh, which is large for a plug-in hybrid and helps extend electric driving distance.
Interior changes and infotainment
Inside, the SUV gets a cleaner layout and more tech. The biggest change is the new infotainment system.
Key updates:
- 14.6-inch touchscreen
- New Coffee OS system with faster response
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Column-mounted gear selector (frees up console space)
- Wireless phone charging
- Suede sports seats with ‘GT’ badging
The system now handles navigation, media, and vehicle settings in one place and is easier to use than before.
Sales and positioning
The GWM H6GT PHEV was launched in 2025 and has sold over 2,300 units so far. Electrified versions now make up more than half of H6GT sales.
It competes in the growing plug-in hybrid SUV segment, offering both electric driving for short trips and petrol backup for longer drives.
Petrol and standard hybrid versions of the H6GT are still available alongside this plug-in hybrid.
