Jaguar has revealed the interior of its upcoming Jaguar Type 01, giving the first look at the cabin of the new luxury GT ahead of its global reveal in New York on 6 October 2026.
The Jaguar Type 01 interior follows the brand’s new design philosophy, with a dramatic central spine running through the length of the cabin. The feature separates the cabin into four individual spaces while creating a distinctive longitudinal design unlike the horizontal layouts commonly used in modern cars.
The Type 01 prototype will also appear at Monterey Car Week in North America before making an appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours on 16 August 2026.

Jaguar Type 01 interior gets a dramatic central spine
The centrepiece of the new Jaguar interior is a full-length central spine that runs through the cabin and emphasises the car’s long, low proportions.
Jaguar says the design creates four individual spaces within the cabin, while the low seating position is intended to give the driver a cossetting and confidence-inspiring driving position.
The central spine features a brass-inspired finish, with the same treatment extending across the tops of the doors. Jaguar’s leaper emblem is incorporated along these elements, turning them into prominent design features rather than simply functional trim.
The interior design takes inspiration from travertine stone and artisan textiles, with Jaguar aiming to create a more tactile and sensory experience.
According to Jaguar Chief Interior Designer Thomas Holden, the cabin’s longitudinal architecture is intended to challenge the more conventional horizontal approach to automotive interiors.
“We emphasise its dramatic longitudinal nature through the central spine – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces.”

Slim dashboard brings technology into the design
The Jaguar Type 01 also features a slim dashboard designed to visually connect with the bonnet.
Jaguar describes the dashboard and bonnet as a continuous form, with the design using linear graphics and reduced surfaces to blur the boundary between the exterior and interior.
Technology has been integrated into this architecture rather than being made the dominant feature of the cabin.
The infotainment system uses digital interfaces that appear when required, while a digital ClearSight Rear View Display is positioned centrally at the base of the windscreen.
The display sits at approximately the same height as the exterior door mirrors, allowing the driver to maintain a consistent sightline while monitoring what is happening behind the vehicle.
Jaguar is also promising concealed storage compartments, hidden technology and unexpected colour details as part of the Type 01’s interior experience.

Jaguar Type 01 brings new luxury design direction
The Type 01 is significant for Jaguar because it is the first production vehicle to follow the brand’s latest creative philosophy.
The company says the design is intended to make every journey feel like an occasion, combining a low GT driving position with a minimalist cabin and more dramatic interior architecture.
Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover said the interior is designed to match the visual impact of the exterior, with technology and styling working together rather than competing for attention.
The Type 01 therefore represents more than a new model for the brand. It is intended to establish the design direction for Jaguar’s next generation of vehicles.

When will the Jaguar Type 01 be revealed?
The Jaguar Type 01 will be officially revealed in New York on 6 October 2026.
Before the global reveal, the prototype will make its North American appearance during Monterey Car Week, culminating in its display at the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday, 16 August.
Jaguar has not yet released full production specifications, pricing or Australian market details for the Type 01.
More information about the vehicle, including its technical specifications and availability, is expected to be announced as Jaguar approaches its October reveal.
