Kia Australia has expanded its EV3 line-up with the introduction of the new EV3 GT-Line AWD, a range-topping variant that brings dual-motor all-wheel-drive capability to the small electric SUV. Set to arrive in Australian dealerships from September 2026, the new flagship completes the local EV3 range and adds a stronger performance focus to Kia’s smallest EV offering.
The announcement follows a strong period for the EV3 in Australia. According to Kia, the electric SUV recorded its highest monthly sales result in June 2026, with 821 units sold, while also earning several awards from Australian motoring publications.

Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD powertrain and performance

The headline upgrade for the Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD is its new dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. Combined outputs stand at 195kW and 385Nm, representing a significant increase over the front-wheel-drive EV3 variants already on sale.
Kia claims the additional power allows the EV3 GT-Line AWD to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds, making it the quickest EV3 available in Australia.
The new flagship uses the familiar 81.4kWh battery pack, but despite the added performance and AWD hardware, it still delivers a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 559km. This makes it one of the longer-range options in the compact electric SUV segment.
Australian-specific tuning and upgraded hardware

Beyond the extra power, Kia says the EV3 GT-Line AWD has been engineered to offer a more capable driving experience.
The flagship variant receives:
- Larger brakes
- A bespoke suspension setup
- Australian-specific chassis tuning
- Revised steering calibration
These upgrades have been developed to suit local road conditions and complement the added performance from the dual-motor drivetrain.

Kia EV3 range now complete

With the arrival of the GT-Line AWD, Kia says the Australian EV3 range is now complete. The addition gives buyers a choice between efficiency-focused front-wheel-drive variants and a more performance-oriented all-wheel-drive flagship.
The EV3 plays a key role in Kia’s growing electric vehicle portfolio, sitting below larger models such as the EV5, EV6 and EV9. The introduction of the GT-Line AWD broadens the appeal of the EV3 by combining long-range capability with stronger acceleration and all-weather traction.
As competition intensifies in Australia’s compact electric SUV segment, the new Kia EV3 GT-Line AWD gives the brand a higher-performance option designed to attract buyers looking for more power without sacrificing everyday usability or driving range.
