Mazda has expanded the CX-60 SUV range with the launch of a new entry-level petrol option that starts from $44,240 before on-road costs. The G25 four-cylinder engine undercuts the six-cylinder variants and is set to broaden the CX-60 SUV’s appeal in Australia.

Mazda CX-60 price in Australia (2025)
By removing mild-hybrid tech, turbocharging and two cylinders, Mazda has been able to lower the Mazda CX-60’s entry point. The G25 engine is available across three trim levels: Pure, Evolve and Touring. Pricing is as follows:
Mazda CX-60 grades | Engine | Drivetrain | Price (MLP) |
Pure | 2.5L naturally aspirated petrol | RWD | $44,240 |
Evolve | 2.5L naturally aspirated petrol | RWD | $49,240 |
Touring | 2.5L naturally aspirated petrol | RWD | $52,240 |
Mazda is offering an introductory driveaway price of $47,990 for the Pure grade (or $48,990 in WA) with the 2.5L Skyactiv-G powertrain. The deal includes registration, CTP insurance, stamp duty and dealer delivery.
The sharpest offer is on the Pure grade, available nationally (except WA) for $47,990 drive-away, which is $6000 less than the current G40e Pure deal ($53,990 D/A).
This places the Mazda CX-60 in the same ballpark as a high-grade Mazda CX-5, and below rivals such as the Toyota Kluger (from approximately $55,000 drive-away), Kia Sorento (from approximately $50,000+), and Hyundai Santa Fe (from approximately $47,000).

Mazda G25 engine and fuel economy
The 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine may not be the most powerful in the Mazda CX-60 range, but it delivers a practical balance of performance and efficiency. With fuel economy rated at 7.5L/100km combined, it’s among the more economical non-hybrid choices in the line-up. Here’s how the specs shape up in Australia:
Mazda CX-60 G25 specifications (Australia) | Details |
Engine | 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder |
Power Output | 138 kW |
Torque | 250 Nm |
Transmission | 8-speed automatic |
Drivetrain | Rear-wheel drive |
Fuel Efficiency | 7.5L/100km (combined) |

Market positioning

The arrival of the CX-60 G25 petrol puts Mazda in a stronger position against competitors such as the Toyota Kluger, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
While most rivals offer seven seats, the CX-60 remains a five-seat SUV with a more premium equipment list at the entry level.
Mazda says the decision to introduce the G25 petrol was driven by customer demand for a lower-cost entry point. Mazda Australia anticipates that the G25 powertrain will account for approximately one-third of CX-60 sales, thanks to its lower entry price and proven reliability.
Commenting on the latest addition to the CX-60 lineup, Managing Director of Mazda Australia, Vinesh Bhindi, said; “Mazda Australia has always prioritised providing unrivalled value and choice for our consumers, and the addition of the G25 to the CX-60 range is no exception. A proven powerplant, elegant KODO design and a suite of standard inclusions at an extremely compelling price point fully enhance consumer accessibility”
The move also creates more separation between the CX-60 and Mazda’s larger CX-80, while giving price-conscious buyers an alternative to rivals’ seven-seat SUVs.
