Mercedes-Benz has put two of its latest models on public display in Sydney, with the all-new GLC 400 4MATIC electric SUV and updated S 450 4MATIC sedan now at its Martin Place studio.

Announced on 29 October 2026, the display gives Australian visitors an opportunity to see the new electric SUV make its local public debut alongside the latest version of the brand’s flagship sedan.

The vehicles are available to view at Mercedes-Benz Studio Sydney, located at 39 Martin Place. However, the display is only available for a limited time, and the manufacturer says vehicle specifications and display dates may change.

Mercedes-Benz GLC electric brings 360kW and 630km range

Mercedes-Benz GLC electric

The new GLC 400 4MATIC electric is an important addition to Mercedes-Benz’s SUV range, bringing a fully electric powertrain to the GLC nameplate, which the company describes as its most popular SUV line.

The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup produces up to 360kW and 800Nm. Mercedes-Benz also claims a driving range of up to 630km on the WLTP test cycle, although real-world range will vary with driving conditions, speed, weather and use of the climate control.

The SUV features an illuminated grille and AMG Line styling, giving it a different look from the petrol-powered GLC models already familiar to Australian buyers. Its dedicated electric architecture also distinguishes it from conventional combustion-engine SUVs.

The example on display in Sydney is finished in Lavender Silver metallic, a new colour making its Australian public debut. It also wears 21-inch AMG Y-spoke alloy wheels, aluminium-look running boards and the Night Package, which adds black exterior accents.

Inside, the display vehicle has the Luxury Package, including a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that stretches across much of the dashboard. Other equipment includes front sports seats with massage functions, an illuminated star-pattern panoramic roof and a Burmester high-end 4D surround sound system.

The Agility and Comfort Package adds AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering. These features are designed to improve ride comfort and manoeuvrability, although their real-world benefits will depend on road conditions and how the vehicle is driven.

Mercedes-Benz has not provided Australian pricing or confirmed full local sales details in the announcement. The public display should therefore not be taken as confirmation of a retail launch date or final specifications for Australian-delivered vehicles.

Updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class gets more than cosmetic changes

The second vehicle on display is the new Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC, finished in MANUFAKTUR Opalite White Bright.

Mercedes-Benz describes the latest S-Class update as the most extensive within a single generation of the model. More than half of the vehicle, along with around 2,700 components, has been newly developed, updated or re-engineered.

The exterior changes include a radiator grille around 20 per cent larger than before, an illuminated grille surround with three-dimensional chrome-star detailing, updated DIGITAL LIGHT headlights and revised tail-light graphics. The displayed car also has 20-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Inside, the S-Class receives the latest MBUX infotainment system and a 14.4-inch central touchscreen. The cabin combines black Nappa leather upholstery with details such as designer seatbelt buckles for front and rear occupants.

The Comfort PLUS Package adds an augmented-reality head-up display, a 3D driver display and heat- and noise-insulated laminated safety glass. Four-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated seatbelts and heated seats and armrests in both rows further emphasise the sedan’s focus on passenger comfort.

For Australian luxury-car buyers, the updated S-Class provides an early look at the latest technology and cabin features Mercedes-Benz is bringing to its flagship range. However, the announcement does not confirm Australian pricing or detailed local availability.

Where to see the new Mercedes-Benz models

Both vehicles are on display at Mercedes-Benz Studio Sydney, at 39 Martin Place in the Sydney CBD.

The studio is open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and is closed on weekends and NSW public holidays.

Visitors can find further information about the venue and upcoming displays on the official Mercedes-Benz Australia Studio website.

Mercedes-Benz says the vehicles will only be displayed for a limited period, with dates, specifications and the cars available to view subject to change.
