Mercedes-Benz is set to launch its new global Mercedes-Benz Studio concept in Sydney, Australia, this September.
Located in Sydney’s bustling commercial district, the Studio aims to bring the brand closer to customers and enthusiasts by creating a welcoming destination built around Mercedes-Benz’s brand promise: “Welcome home.”
Sydney residents and visitors will begin seeing the future Studio site take shape at Martin Place from 26 June 2026, before the official opening.
What to expect?
The Mercedes-Benz Studio is designed as a public space where automotive innovation, culture and city life come together. The Studio is open for everyone and will host a variety of interactive experiences, including:
- New vehicle launches
- Interactive brand activation
- Exclusive invite-only events
- Cultural celebrations delivered through strategic partnerships
The goal is to create a new gathering place where visitors can engage with the Mercedes-Benz brand in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
Why choose Martin Place?
Mercedes-Benz has chosen Martin Place as the home of its Sydney Studio. Martin Place is often described as the heart of Sydney and is a pedestrian-friendly boulevard in the CBD that blends heritage, commerce and public life.
The precinct connects several of Sydney’s best-known landmarks and institutions, including:
- The General Post Office (GPO)
- The Reserve Bank of Australia
- Major bank headquarters
Martin Place was also added to the Australian Heritage Commission’s list in 1989, reinforcing its significance as one of the city’s most recognisable public spaces.
Sydney joins a global Mercedes-Benz initiative
According to Homero Becerra, CEO and Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific, the Studio will offer local customers and fans a fresh way to engage with the brand.
“Mercedes-Benz Australia is proud that Sydney has been selected as one of the key cities in the global Mercedes-Benz Studio initiative. We are thrilled to bring the concept to our local customers and enthusiasts, creating a space where they can connect with our brand in a way that feels inspiring and celebrates our passions of technology, art, sports, and culture.”
Part of Mercedes-Benz’s 140-year celebration
The Sydney Studio will launch during a landmark year for Mercedes-Benz, marking 140 years since Carl Benz filed the original patent for the world’s first automobile.
The local studio will become an official stop on the global “140 Years. 140 Places.” journey before its opening, as part of the company’s “140 Years of Innovation” celebrations.
The journey sees the new S-Class visit 140 destinations around the world that represent Mercedes-Benz’s history, pioneering spirit and global presence.
A global network of Mercedes-Benz Studios
The Sydney location forms part of a wider international rollout. Mercedes-Benz Studios will be introduced across more than ten metropolitan centres throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia in 2026.
The concept is designed to place the brand directly in the heart of major cities rather than solely within traditional dealership networks.

Creating a more personal customer experience
Christina Schenck, Vice President Digital & Communications and Investor Relations at Mercedes-Benz AG, said, “Our Mercedes-Benz Studios are meant to make visitors feel welcome. We’re bringing our newest and most exciting cars right into the heart of the city, so customers can experience them up close, in a relaxed and inspiring setting. It’s about creating places people enjoy spending time in; discovering our products, connecting with the brand, and feeling at home with Mercedes-Benz.”
Building long-term relationships beyond the sale
Mercedes-Benz says the studio concept reflects its commitment not only to building desirable vehicles but also to strengthening customer relationships throughout the ownership journey.
The company says each Studio has been designed to create memorable customer experiences before, during and after the vehicle purchasing process.
Bottom line
Mercedes-Benz is bringing its new global Studio concept to Australia with the opening of Mercedes-Benz Studio Sydney this September. The public space will combine vehicle displays, interactive experiences, exclusive events and cultural partnerships in a welcoming city-centre setting.
The Sydney Studio also forms part of Mercedes-Benz’s global 140th anniversary celebrations. The brand wants to focus on delivering customer experiences that extend well beyond the traditional showroom.
