As Australian car buyers increasingly prefer hybrids, especially for their SUVs, Nissan Australia has decided to make its own electrified SUV more accessible than ever before with the launch of the Nissan Qashqai Ti e-Power trim. With a price tag of $47,165 (before on-road costs), it adds a $4200 premium for the hybrid tech while making it $5200 more affordable than before.

Nissan Qashqai e-Power explained
The Nissan e-Power drivetrain technology is a distinct hybrid setup that uses the combustion engine as a generator to power the electric motors, or to charge the battery. It also features regenerative braking and an e-pedal system (single-pedal driving). Even though the wheels are driven exclusively by the electric motor, these are not emission-free kilometres like a conventional battery-powered EV.

Qashqai Ti features & comforts
The Ti grade might just be one above-base in the Qashqai lineup for Australia, but it still comes fairly well-equipped. As standard, the Nissan SUV comes with LED lighting front and rear, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control and a suite of safety features and driver driver assists.

Let’s see what you can have with the Qashqai Ti grade.
Exterior
It rides on 19-inch alloys for a more premium road presence combined with the new grille design that features a clear-coated satin chrome foil stamp. Buyers will also get privacy glass and roof rails, and the choice of the optional two-tone roof is introduced on this trim level.
Interior
The Qashqai Ti offers dual 12.3-inch displays, adding the larger digital driver’s display. Its cabin experience is enhanced by customisable RGB ambient lighting and the frameless inside rearview mirror and full PVC leather accented trim.
Features
Additional cabin comforts over standard for the Qashqai Ti include:
- Heated seats
- Heated steering wheel with full grain leather accent
- 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory
- 6-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat
- Memory function with tilt while parking for ORVMs
Worth the savings?
Given the savings of the Ti e-Power trim, these are some of the key features it misses out on compared to the pricier Ti-L e-Power variant:
- 20-inch alloy wheels
- Panoramic glass roof
- Powered tailgate
- Massage seats with quilted leather-accented trim
- Head-up display
- Black Alcantara in the cabin
- 10-speaker Bose audio system
Nissan Qashqai Safety Suite

The Qashqai comes packed with a host of safety tech and driver assistance systems. Here’s everything it gets as standard:
- Rearview camera with parking sensors
- Lane departure warning
- Blind spot warning
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- Forward collision warning
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Intelligent driver alert
- Adaptive cruise control
- Multiple airbags
The Qashqai Ti further comes equipped with a 360-degree view monitor with front parking sensors and Nissan ProPilot with Lane Keep Assist.
Rivals
The Nissan Qashqai competes against the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro. It also takes on value-packed offerings like the Haval Jolion and BYD Atto 3 (electric SUV). With its more electrified powertrain becoming more affordable than ever in Australia, Nissan is surely aiming to increase its stake in the country’s small SUV segment.
