Suzuki Australia has officially revealed full Australian specifications for its first-ever battery electric vehicle, the all-new Suzuki e Vitara, ahead of its local launch scheduled for June 2026.
Marking a major milestone for the brand, the e Vitara represents Suzuki’s entry into the fast-growing electric SUV segment, blending the familiarity of one of its most recognisable nameplates with a newly developed electric platform, modern design language, and advanced battery-electric technology.
The electric SUV will be offered in two variants for Australia, the Suzuki e Vitara Motion and the Suzuki e Vitara Ultra, with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, respectively.
Suzuki’s first BEV signals a new direction

The Suzuki e Vitara is positioned as a compact, everyday electric SUV designed to meet the needs of Australian motorists transitioning to EV ownership. Suzuki says the model stays true to its long-standing brand pillars of efficiency, lightweight engineering, reliability, and practical design, while introducing electrification.
According to Suzuki Australia, the e Vitara is intended to deliver a balance of urban usability, regional versatility, and approachable EV ownership, rather than focusing purely on outright performance or luxury.
Exterior design

Visually, the Suzuki e Vitara adopts a more assertive and modern design than its combustion-engine predecessor.
Key exterior highlights include:
- Bold Adventure SUV-inspired styling
- Sculpted body panels with a strong shoulder line
- Sharp LED lighting front and rear
- Aerodynamic detailing designed to improve efficiency
- Confident stance without oversized proportions
Suzuki says the design aims to convey both strength and advanced technology, aligning with its transition into the electric era while retaining compact SUV proportions suitable for city driving.
Interior design

Inside, the Suzuki e Vitara adopts a clean and contemporary cabin layout that prioritises usability over visual clutter.
Interior highlights include:
- Minimalist dashboard design
- Floating centre console
- Ambient interior lighting with 12 selectable colours
- Large digital displays paired with physical climate control switches
Unlike many newer EVs that rely heavily on touchscreen-only interfaces, Suzuki has retained physical buttons for climate control, reinforcing its emphasis on intuitive, distraction-free operation.
HEARTECT-e Platform

The Suzuki e Vitara is underpinned by Suzuki’s newly developed HEARTECT-e platform, engineered exclusively for battery electric vehicles.
Key advantages of the HEARTECT-e architecture include:
- Optimised cabin space despite compact exterior dimensions
- High structural rigidity for improved safety
- Efficient management of collision energy
- Integration of high-voltage battery systems
- Balanced weight distribution to support ride and handling
Suzuki says the platform plays a crucial role in delivering everyday usability while supporting competitive driving range figures
Powertrain and battery options
The Suzuki e Vitara features an all-new electric powertrain combining electric drive axles, a lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, and an integrated heat pump battery thermal management system fitted as standard across the range.
Battery and drivetrain overview
| Specifications | Suzuki e Vitara Motion | Suzuki e Vitara Ultra |
| Battery | 49 kWh LFP | 61 kWh LFP |
| Drive | 2WD | AWD |
| Power | 106 kW | 135 kW |
| Torque | 193 Nm | 307 Nm |
| Range | 344 km | 395 km |
Suzuki has opted for LFP battery chemistry, citing durability, thermal stability, and long-term reliability as key reasons for its selection.
ALLGRIP-e
Exclusive to the Suzuki e Vitara Ultra, Suzuki introduces its newly developed ALLGRIP-e electric four-wheel drive system.
Key features of ALLGRIP-e include:
- Independent front and rear electric motors
- Precise torque distribution for improved traction
- Enhanced stability on slippery or uneven surfaces
- Dedicated driving modes for varied conditions
Suzuki claims ALLGRIP-e not only enhances off-road confidence but also contributes to stronger on-road performance and control, positioning the Ultra as one of the more capable AWD electric SUVs in its size class.
Charging capability and heat pump technology

The Suzuki e Vitara supports both AC and DC charging, with Suzuki targeting competitive charging times for both battery sizes.
Charging times (Target figures)
| Charging type | Time |
| DC fast charging (10–80%) | 45 minutes |
| AC 11 kW (3-phase, 10–100%) | 5.5 hours |
| AC 7 kW (single-phase, 10–100%) | 9 hours |
The charging port is positioned on the front passenger-side wing.
Notably, a heat pump system is standard across the entire range, helping to optimise battery temperature, charging efficiency, and driving range in varying climatescfvan advantage over several competitors that reserve heat pumps for higher trims or optional packages.
