Mild-hybrid 2026 Renault Arkana price and specs revealed

Renault Australia has given the 2026 Arkana an electrified powertrain, but don’t expect the full hybrid system available overseas. 

The coupe-style small SUV now uses a 12V mild-hybrid setup paired with a 3.6kW starter-generator motor, which is unusual as most modern mild hybrids now use 48V technology. Arkana’s boxy-SUV sibling Symbioz also features a 12V mild-hybrid system in its base grade.

The Arkana itself remains what buyers know: a five-door compact coupe SUV that combines an SUV’s raised driving position with the sloping roofline of a sports coupe.

The French-origin brand axes the older entry-level Evolution grade, leaving the Techno as the new base variant. Both 2026 variants are on sale now.

2026 Renault Arkana powertrain and performance

The new mild-hybrid system replaces last year’s non-electrified 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and the Arkana has not gone full hybrid yet. The 3.6kW electric motor fitted here is the starter-generator, which has slightly increased the power by 1kW and torque by 8Nm.

The company also says the dual-clutch automatic transmission now delivers smoother operation. Power continues to reach the wheels via the existing RWD drivetrain, while the Arkana retains its MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion-beam rear axle.

The mild-hybrid system doesn’t change the Arkana’s combined fuel consumption figure. Here is a look at its official fuel consumption figures:

• Combined: 5.9L/100km (unchanged)
• Urban: 7.2L/100km (down from 7.6L/100km)
• Highway: 5.2L/100km (up from 4.9L/100km)

Combined CO₂ emissions increase slightly from 133g/km to 134g/km.

2026 Renault Arkana exterior

The latest Arkana gets a new Satin Grey matte exterior finish, and it follows the 2024 facelift here, which brought revised styling and introduced the Esprit Alpine flagship. The standard exterior equipment and features include:

The Techno comes standard in Solid White, but buyers can get these premium, extra-costing metallic finishes on any variant: Universal White, Metallic Black, Metallic Grey, Night Blue, and Flame Red. One can also buy the Satin Grey matte paint for $1,150 on the Esprit Alpine.

The 2026 Renault Arkana brings mild-hybrid technology to Australia, but it stops well short of the full hybrid available overseas in South Korea. Buyers get a small increase in power, lower urban fuel consumption and a smoother dual-clutch transmission, while pricing starts at $41,990 before on-road costs.

The Arkana’s formula remains largely unchanged with this year’s facelift, aside from the new mild-hybrid powertrain and a fresh matte paint option.
