Bentley has entered the electric era with the 2027 Bentley Torcal EV, a large electric SUV that takes the brand into several new territories at once. It becomes Bentley’s first EV, most powerful production model, quickest-accelerating model and, at around £165,000 in the UK, its most attainable model.
Bentley will offer the Torcal in standard and S First Edition variants, with both using dual-motor electric powertrains and technology derived from the new Porsche Cayenne Electric.
Bentley’s first EV packs serious power
The standard Torcal produces 603kW and 1194 Nm, while the Torcal S First Edition lifts those figures to 653kW and 1350 Nm, making the S the most powerful Bentley ever.
The Torcal S also becomes Bentley’s quickest production model, with a claimed 0–60mph time of 2.9 seconds. Both versions use dual electric motors.

Bentley says every system has received its own calibration, including the brakes, accelerator and steering. The company wants the Torcal to deliver what it calls “accessible performance without absurdity”.
Bentley quotes up to 600km of WLTP driving range, which it says equates to around five hours of travel time.
The Torcal shares its underpinnings with the new Porsche Cayenne Electric, but Bentley has calibrated its systems specifically for the British marque.
The Torcal S produces more standard power than the Cayenne Turbo Electric’s 630kW, but the Porsche can use an overboost function to reach 850kW and 1500Nm.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric also claims a 2.5-second 0–100km/h time and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes, compared with the Torcal’s 2.7-tonne rating.
The Torcal comes standard with active suspension and two-valve adaptive damping, and Bentley says the system delivers “magic carpet” ride comfort while providing a new level of body control without anti-roll bars.
The company also claims the Torcal is the hardest-cornering four-door Bentley in its history.
Smaller than the Bentayga
The all-new Torcal EV is 161mm shorter than the standard-wheelbase Bentayga.

It uses a conventional SUV roofline, despite its lower overall height, and has heavily sculpted rear haunches.

Design mixes Bentley’s past and future
Bentley draws inspiration from several parts of its history and future design work. The front end takes cues from the Continental T from the late 1990s and early 2000s, with a bluff, upright appearance.
At the rear, Bentley references the EXP 15 electric fastback concept shown in 2025, but Torcal retains a more traditional SUV roofline, along with its pronounced rear haunches. The crystal effects continue from the cabin to an illuminated floating diamond grille outside.
The EXP 15 also heavily influences the cabin.
World-first interior with new technology throughout
Bentley has developed new trims, materials and manufacturing processes specifically for the Torcal, and the highlight is the industry-first automotive application of merino wool.
Six colourways have been created for the merino wool, and each combines complementary tones from the same colour family.
The material also becomes the first automotive wool fabric to achieve 100% certification under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), a Textile Exchange programme.
Bentley also offers a new Ombre Veneer made from sustainably sourced walnut off-cuts and recycled paper. The resulting textured finish follows the geometry of the cabin and creates a continuous transition of tone across each surface.
Bentley’s Mulliner coachbuilding division also creates a Sunburst Aluminium trim insert which reinterprets the engine-turned aluminium dashboards used on Bentley models in the past.
The cabin follows the EXP 15’s design themes, including its winged architecture and detailing, and crystal-effect elements appear across both the physical and digital parts of the interior.
The Bentley Diamond motif continues in the Torcal, and the displays project light through genuine hand-cut crystal glass developed with Cumbria Crystal in England’s Lake District.
The Torcal introduces a new-generation driver-assistance technology suite enabled by its new architecture, and it also adds new health and wellbeing systems to the vehicle’s technology package.

The glass roof uses a version of Porsche’s Variable Light Control technology, and the doors can operate individually or all together. The audio system also includes seat shakers and speakers integrated into the headrests.
Bentley’s most attainable model
Bentley will design, engineer and build the Torcal in Great Britain. Production will take place on a new production line at Bentley’s home in Crewe, near Manchester.
The standard Torcal starts at around £165,000 in the UK, equivalent to A$309,784, making it Bentley’s most attainable model. For comparison, the Bentayga starts at around £156,000 (A$292,879) in the UK for its plug-in Hybrid version, although Bentley no longer sells that variant in Australia.
The most attainable Bentayga in Australia is currently the V8, priced from $412,600 before on-road costs and in the UK, the cheapest Bentayga V8 starts at around £178,800 (A$335,693).
Bentley will start producing the Torcal during the second quarter of 2027, and customers can specify their vehicles from today.
Australian delivery timing remains unconfirmed, although buyers can expect the first vehicles to arrive before the end of next year.
