Ford Australia has recalled 1,085 Ranger utes and Everest SUVs over a manufacturing fault that could cause the centre display screen to stop working and fail to show the reversing camera image.
Published on 21 October 2026, the recall is listed under recall number REC-006748 and campaign number 26C42. It applies to certain 2024–2026 model-year Ford Ranger and Everest vehicles equipped with a 10.1-inch centre touchscreen.
According to the official Australian vehicle recall notice, the manufacturing issue could cause the display to go blank. If the reversing camera image is unavailable while reversing, drivers may have reduced visibility of people or obstacles behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident that could cause serious injury or death.

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?

The fault affects the 10.1-inch centre display fitted to certain Ford Ranger and Everest vehicles. A manufacturing issue could cause the screen to stop functioning and display a blank screen.
The reversing camera image is displayed on the centre touchscreen, helping drivers see the area behind the vehicle when reversing. If the screen stops working, the driver may be unable to use the camera image to check for pedestrians, objects or other hazards behind the vehicle.
The recall notice warns that the loss of the rear-view image could increase the risk of an accident, potentially resulting in serious injury or death to people behind the vehicle.
The issue does not mean every affected vehicle will experience a screen failure. However, owners of vehicles included in the recall should arrange the required repair to address the potential safety risk.

The Ranger was also recalled in August 2026 over a separate side-airbag deployment issue affecting almost 14,000 vehicles built between 2025 and 2026. That campaign was unrelated to the current touchscreen fault.
The Everest was previously included in a July 2026 recall alongside the Ranger over an issue affecting the 10-speed automatic transmission. The latest recall concerns the centre display and reversing camera image.
