The Australian price of the upcoming Honda Super-One EV may have surfaced online before its official launch in late 2026. Reddit user, Capt_SloMo, shared screenshots claiming to show Honda Australia’s online configurator running in preview mode, listing the all-electric city hatch at $38,900 drive-away.
Honda Australia has not announced local pricing or confirmed the screenshots. The company may also have used placeholder pricing while testing the configurator ahead of its public release.
The EV, closer in size to the Kia Picanto, went on sale in the UK last month and revealed some key specifications about this small city hatchback.
Honda Super-One EV leaked pricing and features
The leaked pricing of the 2026 Honda Super-One EV starts from $38,900 drive-away. According to the leaked configurator, Honda will initially offer the Super-One in a single model grade. The website screenshots also show several standard features, including:
- Magic seats
- Adaptive cruise control
- Boost mode
- Bose sound system
The leaked configurator lists three standard Mono Tone paint finishes: Mono Grey, Crystal Black, and Boost Violet. A two-tone paint option also appears, which pairs exclusively with Boost Violet and adds $500, increasing the drive-away price to $39,400.
Where could the Super-One EV sit in Australia’s EV market?
The Super-One would sit between two key electric-vehicle rivals if the leaked pricing proves correct. It would cost more than Australia’s current cheapest EV, the BYD Atto 1, which starts from $23,990 before on-road costs. And it would undercut the Hyundai Inster, which starts from $39,000 before on-road costs.
If the leaked pricing proves accurate, the Honda Super-One would slot between both models in Australia’s growing affordable EV segment.
Estimated pricing aligns with the leaked price
An estimate based on Super One’s Japanese domestic pricing yields a figure close to the leaked Australian price. Using the official Japanese Sport Edition launch price of ¥3,390,200, the calculation removes Japan-specific domestic taxes, converts the remaining value into Australian dollars, and adds shipping, local compliance costs, distributor costs and GST.
This calculation produces an estimated Australian retail price of approximately $35,100 plus on-road costs. The estimated on-road price falls between $36,500 and $38,500, depending on the state or territory where the vehicle is registered.
That estimate is broadly consistent with the leaked $38,900 drive-away figure.
Official final pricing stays unconfirmed
Honda has yet to confirm any local pricing details. The leaked configurator provides an early indication of pricing, but the history also shows that direct currency conversion from Japanese pricing rarely matches the final Australian retail price. The official figures will arrive closer to the Super-One’s Australian launch in the second half of 2026.
