Geely has officially debuted the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 in China, which is the brand’s first “boxy-style” SUV. The plug-in hybrid 4×4 and almost 3-ton car aims squarely at established off-road wagons such as the Land Rover Defender and Toyota LandCruiser.
The company first introduced the Galaxy Cruiser concept at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2025. The production model made its domestic debut during a media launch in Hangzhou, China, on 24 July 2026.
Geely will present the Cruiser 700 in Milan, Italy, on 26 July 2026, kicking off its international promotional tour. Mass production will begin in late 2026, with the first customer deliveries in China expected before the end of the year.
There is no official word on the Australian launch yet, but the large SUV could launch in 2029 locally, after the UK debut in 2028.
Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 Australian release date
Geely has not announced Australian plans yet, but overseas developments point in that direction. Geely UK’s Marketing Director, Tianxiao Yan, confirmed the model for the British market, telling Car Magazine that they will definitely launch that car in the UK.
UK deliveries are expected to begin in 2028, which confirms the right-hand-drive production is already planned. That timeline points to a potential Australian arrival in 2029.
Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 powertrain and performance
Geely will offer the Cruiser 700 with three plug-in hybrid powertrains. The first two entry-level variants use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine (BHE15-CFZ) producing 115kW, which achieves a top speed of 200km/h.
The flagship, range-topping trim uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (BHE20-EFZ) producing 155kW with a top speed of 220km/h.

The top-grade’s powertrain produces a combined output of 830kW through a tri-motor plug-in hybrid system. The flagship model also offers a 1,600kg towing capacity.
The Cruiser 700 also brings impressive off-road specifications, which include a 30° approach angle, 31° departure angle, 24° break-over angle, 233mm ground clearance, and an 800mm maximum wading depth.
More details will be announced after the Milan launch.

Geely says the cabin achieves an 80.3% space utilisation rate. The luggage compartment offers 1,050 litres of storage, while the cabin includes 63 storage compartments. Its interior and comfort features include:

The Cruiser 700 uses a symmetrical dashboard available in White-Brown, Black-Brown, and All-Black tones. Wood-grain finishes and mountain-inspired textures complete the interior theme.
The digital cockpit features five displays:

- 12.66-inch passenger display
- Rear control screen
- 15.2-inch head-up display
The system can display real-time off-road information such as Altitude, Vehicle angle, Slope, and Vehicle posture.
Geely has also retained plenty of physical buttons for easier operation while driving off-road despite the digital layout.
