Kia has unveiled its all-new, larger PV7 electric van at the 2026 IAA Transportation truck show in Hanover, Germany, and confirmed it will launch in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Kia has not revealed Australian pricing or specifications. The company also has not disclosed every PV7 detail ahead of its South Korean and European launch in the second half of 2027.
The PV7 range will expand after launch, and the company plans to introduce short-body and all-wheel-drive versions further down the track. Kia will also add a larger PV9, which it plans to launch in 2029.
Long-body PV7 leads the launch
At launch, Kia will offer the PV7 in long-body form, and it is considerably larger than the standard-length Kia PV5 already sold in Australia.

Kia also sells the PV5 overseas in high-roof and long-body forms – the high-roof version adds 295mm in height, while the long-body version adds 195mm in length.
One motor, two battery options
At launch, every PV7 version will use the same electric powertrain, which uses a 200kW/420Nm electric motor in the front and is paired with either a 71.5kWh or 96.2kWh NCM battery.
Kia says the PV7 Cargo Long Range will travel more than 460km under the WLTP testing standard.

The PV7 uses Kia’s E-GMP.S architecture and an 800V electrical system, which supports fast DC charging at up to 350kW.
An AC/DC charging port at the front comes standard, and Kia will also offer an optional additional AC charging point at the rear.
The PV7 supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power appliances, tools or other equipment.

Cargo version offers up to 8000L
The PV7 Cargo will offer either two or three front seats, and buyers can also choose between rear barn doors and a lift-up tailgate.

Using the VDA measurement standard, the long-body PV7 provides 6100 litres of cargo volume, and that figure rises to 8000 litres in high-roof versions.
The long-body version has a 550mm loading height and can accommodate up to three Euro pallets.
Passenger versions can seat up to 11
Kia will also offer the PV7 as a Passenger model, and buyers can choose from seven-, nine- and 11-seat versions. The 11-seat version will only be sold in South Korea.
The nine-seat model comes in either three- or four-row configurations, and seven-seat versions use seats mounted on a long rail system, allowing owners to remove the seats.
Interior: Two touchscreen sizes
Kia will offer either a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen up front, and both run the automaker’s latest Pleos operating system. The PV7 will also support remote fleet-management software that can:
- Monitor vehicles in real time
- Track charging requirements
- Provide predictive diagnostics
- Help manage maintenance
Safety and passenger equipment
Available safety features in the PV7 electric van include:
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Lane keeping assist
- Navigation-based smart cruise control
- Parking sensors
- 360-degree camera system
Passenger versions can also receive rear climate controls, 100W USB-C ports and additional storage solutions.
