SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG Motor Australia, has reported global sales of 2.045 million vehicles during the first half of 2026. With this, SAIC becomes the first Chinese automaker to surpass the two-million-unit mark in the first six months of a calendar year.

The milestone was supported by a strong June 2026 performance, with SAIC Motor selling 395,000 vehicles globally during the month, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year. SAIC said the result was driven by strong demand across its brands, growing new energy vehicle (NEV) sales and accelerating international expansion.
