Polestar has announced a new addition to its Australian lineup with the arrival of the Polestar 4 SUV. The new model joins the existing Polestar 4 coupé and introduces a conventional rear window along with enhanced practicality. Australian sales are scheduled to begin on September 2, 2026.
The SUV expands customer choice by offering greater practicality and versatility while retaining the design, performance and sustainability that define the Polestar 4 range. The new Polestar 4 SUV will be manufactured in Busan, South Korea.
What makes the new Polestar 4 SUV different?
According to Polestar, the new SUV has been developed to build on the success of the Polestar 4 coupé. The existing Polestar 4 lacks a traditional rear window, and a roof-mounted high-definition camera sends a live video feed to a digital rearview mirror.

The new SUV maintains the same distinctive styling and driving character as the Polestar 4 coupé, while introducing several practical enhancements for everyday use, including a conventional rear window and improved storage solutions. Key additions include:
- Greater flexibility for everyday use
- A rear window
- More practical and versatile storage solutions
- The same focus on performance and sustainability
The aim is to offer customers another option without altering the Polestar 4’s core character.
Polestar 4 SUV performance and range

Both the new Polestar 4 SUV and the latest Polestar 4 coupé receive retuned chassis components designed to further enhance their sporty driving dynamics. The models continue to use Polestar’s proven 400V electrical architecture, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency.
The key performance figures include:
- Up to 630km WLTP driving range in Rear Motor variants
- Up to 400kW of power in Dual Motor models
