Key highlights:

  • 2027 Zeekr 7X retains existing prices from $57,900 before on-roads
  • Performance AWD now produces 500kW and 790Nm
  • Long Range RWD gains 12km of driving range

Zeekr has given its Tesla Model Y rival a mid-life update, bringing more power, extra driving range, revised styling and additional equipment without increasing prices. The facelifted 2027 Zeekr 7X has arrived in Australia sooner than expected, with orders now open and customer deliveries scheduled to begin in December 2026.

The update also brings some previously flagship-exclusive luxury features to cheaper variants, but Australian models miss out on the 900-volt electrical architecture offered in China. The updated 2027 Zeekr 7X competes in Australia’s fiercely contested mid-to-large electric SUV segment, challenging BYD Sealion 7, XPeng G6, Avatr 07L, Polestar 4, in addition to the Model Y.

More power across the range

Zeekr has increased power and torque outputs across all three variants, with the Performance AWD receiving an even stronger dual-motor setup.

The flagship Performance AWD now produces 500kW and 790 Nm through its dual-motor setup, shaving 0.1 seconds off its predecessor’s claimed acceleration time. The outgoing Performance AWD was the best-selling variant in the 7X range.

Zeekr has retained the existing battery packs but made small improvements to the WLTP driving range. The Long Range RWD receives the biggest improvement, gaining 12km of claimed WLTP driving range.

Australian models miss out on the 900-volt architecture available in Chinese versions, which supports faster charging. DC charging specifications remain unchanged.

Exterior changes: revised front and rear styling

The facelift brings several styling changes, although Zeekr has retained the overall shape of the SUV. The changes include:

  • A redesigned front bumper with reshaped air intakes
  • A narrower front grille shutter
  • A reworked tailgate that now houses the number plate
  • A revised rear diffuser
  • Standard rear privacy glass across all variants

Zeekr has also relocated the Performance AWD’s powered front-door buttons, and they now sit on the door handles rather than the door pillars. However, these handles still do not pop out of the body like those on the RWD variants.

Following the success of the Black Special Edition, Zeekr has introduced an optional Black Edition Package for the Performance AWD, and it adds a black exterior trim and 20-inch black alloy wheels. Buyers can only order this package with Onyx Black exterior paint and standard black upholstery.

Zeekr has also introduced a two-tone Tech Grey exterior finish with a black roof for the Long Range RWD and Performance AWD. However, Brook Blue with a silver roof appears to have disappeared from the colour range.

Interior updates and additional equipment

Inside, Zeekr has redesigned the centre console and changed the cupholder position, and it has also replaced the previous curved sliding storage cover with a flatter design. Boot capacity remains unchanged at 539 litres behind the rear seats.

Zeekr also states that the Performance AWD has a 66-litre front boot. However, the company has not clarified whether the under-bonnet storage compartment has disappeared from the rear-wheel-drive variants.

The Long Range RWD receives several features that previously came exclusively with the flagship Performance AWD, which include the Nappa leather upholstery and powered rear-door sunshades. An integrated refrigerator in the centre console is another major addition to the Australian range.

Zeekr has previously offered this feature in Chinese models, but Australian customers could not officially buy it here. The refrigerator now comes with both the Long Range RWD and Performance AWD.

New driver-assistance hardware and built-in dashcam

Zeekr has introduced a new suite of driver-assistance cameras and sensors supplied by Bosch, but the available information does not indicate any additional driver-assistance features that take advantage of the upgraded hardware. One useful addition across all three variants is an integrated drive recorder.

The system uses the SUV’s exterior cameras to record the road while driving and monitor the vehicle’s surroundings while parked. This brings a built-in dashcam-style recording system to the entire range.

2027 Zeekr 7X: Australian prices unchanged

Despite the additional equipment and performance improvements, Zeekr has kept prices unchanged across the three-variant range. Zeekr Australia has opened orders, with deliveries expected to commence in December 2026.

VariantPrice (before on-road costs)
2027 Zeekr 7X RWD$57,900
2027 Zeekr 7X Long Range RWD$63,900
2027 Zeekr 7X Performance AWD$72,900

Interestingly, Zeekr had previously told visitors at the 2026 Paris Motor Show that the Australian launch timeline remained unconfirmed, but the local brand has now brought the updated SUV to market earlier than expected.

Zeekr has introduced a collection of incentives to attract early buyers following the unexpectedly quick Australian launch. Customers who purchase the updated 7X by 31 December 2026 will receive:

  • Free exterior and interior paint choices
  • Two years of free servicing
  • A home wallbox charger
  • 5000 Zeekr App points
  • A Frank Green water bottle
  • Either a branded Anker power bank or Zeekr-labelled sparkling wine

These offers give early adopters additional value without requiring Zeekr to reduce the SUV’s advertised prices.

Customers who have already placed an order for the outgoing 7X do not automatically lose their existing arrangements. Zeekr says they can retain their current order or contact their local retailer to discuss switching to the updated model.
