kia picanto
Kia is still relatively fresh to Australians, although many people may have experienced the brand unknowingly if they bought a Ford Festiva from the 1990s (Kia produced it for Ford). Kia has also sponsored the Australian Open tennis tournament since 2002 as part of a marketing campaign that's helped make Kia a household name.

If you're looking for a car to load the family into and head off into the sunset then the Kia Picanto definitely isn’t for you.
But if you’re looking for a small, easy-to-manoeuvre hatchback to zip around town in then it could be a very wise choice.
Key to the Picanto’s appeal is its value. Sharp pricing and a respectable list of equipment (a reversing camera became standard from 2017) made it appealing to those who wanted affordable transport.
A diminutive 1.2-litre engine is challenged on the open road but works fine around town if you’re not afraid to push it. It could be teamed with a five-speed manual, which makes the most from the modest outputs, or a four-speed auto.
A sportier and characterful 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo is fitted to the GT model for those chasing more, although keep in mind it’s only available with a manual gearbox.
You can get some of that GT look – with larger alloy wheels and a body kit – but with the less powerful 1.2-litre engine in the GT-Line.
All Picantos sold in Australia are backed by Kia’s seven-year warranty, for added peace of mind.
