The new electric Mercedes-Benz GLC brings a dedicated EV platform, up to 630km of WLTP-tested driving range, dual-motor all-wheel drive performance and a host of premium technology features. It joins the growing lineup of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles available to Australian buyers and is expected to become a key rival to the BMW iX, Audi Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan Electric.

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4MATIC Electric is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing up to 360kW and 800Nm. Mercedes-Benz claims the luxury electric SUV can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds, making it one of the quickest models in the GLC range.
Energy comes from a 94.4kWh usable battery pack, delivering a WLTP-tested driving range of up to 630km. The SUV records an energy consumption figure of 17.1kWh/100km. A two-speed gearbox on the rear axle and a Disconnect Unit (DCU) on the front axle help maximise efficiency and driving range.

A major highlight of the new Mercedes-Benz electric SUV is its advanced 800-volt electrical architecture.
The system supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW, allowing drivers to add up to 300km of WLTP-tested range in as little as 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
Australian owners can also utilise AC charging at up to 22kW, while a DC/DC converter ensures compatibility with 400-volt charging stations.

The all-electric GLC features Mercedes-Benz’s latest digital technology suite, headlined by the standard MBUX Superscreen.
The cabin also includes:
- DIGITAL LIGHT headlights
- Panoramic roof with SKY CONTROL
- Burmester 3D surround sound system
- Head-up display
- Heated front sports seats with memory function
- MB.DRIVE driver assistance package
Powering the vehicle’s software ecosystem is the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which supports over-the-air updates and AI-driven vehicle functions.
Buyers can also upgrade to the optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, the largest screen ever fitted to a Mercedes-Benz production vehicle.

Compared with the petrol and diesel Mercedes-Benz GLC sold in Australia, the electric model features an 84mm longer wheelbase.
This translates to improved cabin space for passengers, while practicality remains a key focus.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric offers:
- 570 litres of rear luggage capacity
- Up to 1,740 litres with rear seats folded
- 128-litre front storage compartment (frunk)
The cabin also features ARTICO upholstery made from certified vegan materials, alongside premium trim finishes and enhanced comfort features.

Mercedes-Benz will also offer a limited number of GLC 400 4MATIC Electric Launch Edition models for Australian buyers.
Priced from $110,000 before on-road costs, the Launch Edition replaces the passenger-side Superscreen with a static display panel capable of showing wallpapers, ambient graphics and branded animations.
